Advanced gasification processes for low-rank coal and novel biomass-derived feedstocks
Friday, 16 May 2014
Ian Ross Seminar Room, Ian Ross Building, ANU Campus
The South Australian Coal Research Laboratory—a facility within the Centre for Energy Technology and the School of Chemical Engineering—has a long history of research in the science and applications of Australia's large low-rank coal reserves in Victoria and South Australia, and has a growing interest in the novel utilization of biomass, including algal biomass. This presentation will provide an overview of recent work from our lab on topics including fluidised bed gasification, solar gasification and thermal processing of marine and freshwater algae
Professor Peter Ashman is Head of the School of Chemical Engineering and also leads the South Australian Coal Research Laboratory (SACRL). He is also a senior member of the University of Adelaide's Centre for Energy Technology (CET) and the School of Chemical Engineering's Microalgae Engineering Research Group (MERG).
