Prime Minister visits ANU Big Dish
The Australian Prime Minister, Julia Gillard today visited the SG4 Big Dish at ANU,
together with Greg Combet, Minister for Climate Change and Energy Efficiency, and
Andrew Leigh, Federal Member for Fraser. The politicians were given a tour of the
dish by Keith Lovegrove, and then issued a media statement on the newly-announced
government policy on carbon pricing. The Vice Chancellor, Prof Ian Chubb, was also
present, and the Prime Minister commented that it was his last day working at ANU,
and thanked him for his contributions over his career.
Unfortunately the conditions were cloudy, and no steam was generated, although a
brief gap in the clouds gave a nice glow on the receiver.
