A solar thermochemistry program is being developed
under the lead
of Assoc Prof Wojciech Lipiński in collaboration with
Prof Alan Weimer's Group at the University
of Colorado Boulder. It aims at development
of processes, materials and reactors.
Low- and mid-temperature solar thermal technologies
for commercial and residential applications developed
in the ANU Solar Thermal Group include air heaters,
ground-coupled heat pumps, ejectors and phase-change
energy storage systems.
The ANU Solar Thermal Group (STG) conducts research and education in the broad area of solar thermal energy conversion and related basic and applied disciplines. The main applied research themes are concentrating solar technologies for power generation and production of fuels and commodity materials, solar heating and cooling, and system integration. The basic research spans across optics, photonics, radiative transfer, thermal sciences, chemistry, and materials science.
